Trevor and Vincent Georgie
Step up and decide to lead. This is what Dr. Vincent Georgie (MBA ’04) and Trevor Georgie (MBA ’11) chose to do.
Brothers, raised in the GTA but with deep roots in Windsor and to the University and Windsor community, Vincent, the current Director of the School of Creative Arts and Trevor, leading the Saint John Sea Dogs, carry the Odette alumni torch proudly.
“The Odette School of Business is a passion of ours, and the University of Windsor is considered our family University. We are stepping up here and committing to Odette and to our belief in its current and future leaders. We also want to inspire alumni and future alumni alike that leading by action is simply choosing to lead” offers Dr. Georgie.
As of 2013, the Georgie brothers have decided to take a big step forward as alumni coming on board as title sponsors of the Georgie-Odette Leadership Symposium (GOLS), a Richard Peddie Leadership Initiative. Their decision to commit long-term was an easy one according to Trevor, recent alumni at 25 and former employee of Dr. Peddie’s at Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment.
Their passion and commitment to Odette culminated in a five-year commitment as title sponsors of GOLS. With an impressive lineup of 14 top-tier business leaders scheduled for January 31, 2014, GOLS is expected to sell-out as the inaugural symposium did in 2013, drawing 400 participants from industry and from universities.
“We want to play a role in inspiring many other outstanding young alumni to step up and lead in support of Odette and the University of Windsor. We are incredibly fortunate to have so many great leaders and mentors in our lives and are thrilled to play a small part in the journey of other young leaders.” says Trevor Georgie. The Georgie brothers value continuous learning and leadership at every stage of life, devoting time to causes they are passionate about.
Vincent holds an HBA (University of Toronto), an MBA (University of Windsor) and a PhD (HEC Montreal). Currently, he is an associate professor of Marketing at the Odette School of Business and he is also the Executive Director and Chief Programmer for the Windsor International Film Festival.
Trevor also holds an HBA (University of Toronto) and an MBA (University of Windsor). He is currently President of the Saint John Sea Dogs QMJHL/CHL.
