Donna Wellington
As COO, Donna leads the transformation of Behavioral Health Services into a comprehensive, integrated, high-reliability, high quality provider of behavioral health services service line for the system. She is responsible for Inpatient psych services including Kingswood which is a freestanding facility, Ambulatory BHS services and Addiction Medicine.
Donna has extensive experience in both the inpatient & outpatient settings at Henry Ford Health System, having served as VP of Operations at Henry Ford Hospital, Senior Site Administrator for New Center One, freestanding Medical Multi-specialty Center, Service line administrator for Women’s Health, Dermatology, & Genetics for HFMG, Urology, Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.She has also served as Nurse Administrator for Neurosciences, Maternal Child, NICU & Minimally Invasive Surgery at HFH and lead Nurse HFMG.
As Vice President of Henry Ford Hospital Operations, Donna was responsible for coordinating, integrating and implementing all aspects of the continuum of care from admission to discharge including budgeting, regulatory compliance, process design and staffing. She led the Admission Transfer Management Office, Case Management, Housekeeping, Spiritual Care, Denials/Appeals and Utilization Review for Henry Ford Hospital.From her start as a Diabetic Teaching Nurse in Internal Medicine to as Vice President of Hospital Operations Henry Ford Hospital 800+ beds to her position today COO- HFHS Behavioural health Services. Donna has served in a diverse range of executive level positions throughout the Henry Ford Health System since 1996.Donna holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Nursing as well as a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Windsor. She continues to participate in numerous leadership committees throughout her tenure such as currently serves on various Henry Ford Health System Committees such as Faculty for the Physician Leadership Academy and Advanced Leadership Academy. She is also serves as Executive Sponsor for the HFHS Women’s Improvement Network to name a few.
In addition, Donna was a member of the Board of Directors for Windsor Regional Hospital for 9 years and served on their Quality and Human Resources committees. She continues to be an active member of the Management Advisory Board for the Centre for Executive and Professional Education Management at the Odette School of Business, University of Windsor. Most recently she participated on the search for the new Dean of the Odette School of Business, and is an Adjunct Professor at the University of Windsor.
